Heidi Balli
Trainer
In 2012, Heidi relocated from Atlanta to the Bay Area where she contacted Rob to help with training her very aggressive Pit-Bull, Captain Jack. Jack was found as a stray dog in Atlanta and was a very fear aggressive dog who reacted to both dogs and humans, which included several human bites. During the behavior modification training, Heidi found that her passion was working with dogs. Heidi volunteered her time working with a Pit-Bull Rescue, as well as taking a job as a handler for a Dog Day Care/ Boarding center, but her heart was in working with aggressive dogs like her own.
Heidi later joined NexGen K9 as an apprentice and went through an extensive 10 month long training program. She learned everything from foundational work and puppy behavior, aggressive and leash reactive dogs, to working along side Police k9's and working dogs.
After 10 months of training, Heidi joined Rob and NexGen K9 as a full time dog trainer. Heidi's personal experience with her own human aggressive dog helps her have a balanced approach to the understanding of fear for both the dog and the owner.
"I never want anyone to go through the fear of taking their dog out in public, or to be faced with the decision to euthanize a dog because they didn't know how to help them. I came close to that point with Capitan Jack, and because of that experience, I became passionate about helping dogs and educating owners ."
